Lots of gore, which is a good thing. I liked this book a lot. It was a fun ride full of action. The perfect book for a quick, nasty scare. ( )

This novel holds nothing back, and I should warn you not to get too attached to anyone. You will be surprised at how quick Higson is to rip characters from the pages of this book and it's best just to accept their fate and move along. Read the rest of this review at Notes in the Margin. ( )

I was suprised how much I liked this book. It was action packed as it stated in it's blurb. The author borrows many classics to round out his characters, The Illiad and Lord of the Flies to name a few. I liked the multiple character viewpoints and could imagine myself there. Highly recommend it even though it is a young adult novel. ( )

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH NIGHTMARES FOR DAYS. this was really good (despite the inconsistent point of view, but eh) but HOLY BALLS, WAS IT GOREY. spoilers: kid!death, cannibalism, exploding body parts. ( )
