The book has a lot going for it, but it's let down by some omissions that are important to me. It includes most, if not all, common wild flowers, and is compact enough to be used in the field. The writing and illustrations are crystal clear, and is structured in a logical way pertaining to the flower's colours and number of petals,However, it doesn't include all native flowers. For example, it's missing Monkshood, Corncockle, Cornflower, Cowbane and many others, some of which are widespread. It would have been better to have actual photographs rather than illustrations.Lastly, it fails to include a distribution map which other books do, showing areas of the UK that it's likely to be found.I was going to give it 3 stars(good), but i decided to give it 4 stars(very good) because of it's very low price of £4.50.
