This is the way to write a critique/understanding book about an author's works. Well, it's the way that I prefer. Put this book up against "Models of Misrepresentation" and the John G Parks book and it wins hands down. It is readable; it is understandable; it uses common language; it held my interest. It is one of the "Understanding....." series published by the University of South Carolina Press and I will trot out now to get another one of the series to see if the style permeates. ( )
