So the real mystery is who is behind the Don and what are their nefarious plans? And we're introduced to some Peace and Love chick who Bolan seems to fall in love with. My Thoughts: First, not a huge fan of these new ebook covers. They're lifeless and have NONE of the pulpy zip and zang of the 70's and 80's releases. Oh well, at least there are some legit ebook releases now. I am glad for that. Bolan is beginning to realize that corrupt politicians and power mongers are just as bad, and maybe more prevalent, than the Mafia. With his code of honor, that puts them out of his range for the most part. So far he has always allowed Brognola [his friend inside Washington] to take down the Legitimate Targets from within the Legal System. In this book, we see him take out a non-Mafia target. It felt like a line had been crossed. It also felt like the girl in this book might be more than just the one book bimbo. We'll see if she comes back. If she does, I know she'll die at some point. Mack doesn't get to be happy. " ( ) The War Against The Mafia, books 1-38, are in my mind the best of this series. Of those read by me Cleveland Pipeline is one of the best. Here Bolan does not come across as some pre-terminator killing everything in sight. While the body count is high, he has questions and regrets about his life mission. Also we see times when he just does not have the smarts or info and must rely on others. Enjoy a guilty pleasure that is not to preachy, has lots of gun battles, hot women and bad guys getting their just reward. no reviews | add a review
Belongs to SeriesMack Bolan: The Executioner (Book 30)
A woman is kidnapped, and only the Executioner can save her On a moonlit Cleveland dock, Mack Bolan watches the flagship of the local boss's criminal fleet. It would be child's play to storm aboard and kill the capo, but this boss is strictly small time. Bolan wants the big boys--and he is about to get his shot at them. Toward the ship come two figures dragging an aging prisoner who makes no attempt at escape. Bolan breaks his stakeout to save the old man. He is a judge--and he's minutes from cardiac arrest. As they rush to the hospital, the judge whispers to Bolan about a kidnapped girl whose time is running out. As he fights to save the girl and bring down the Cleveland mob, Bolan discovers something he never thought he would find: a woman who might steal his heart. Cleveland Pipeline is the 30th book in the Executioner series, but you may enjoy reading the series in any order. No library descriptions found. |
