This appears to be a gathering of several individual books of the lives of the Great Masters into one massive book, The original titles were: The History and Techniques of the Great Masters. For each artist there is an Introduction, Life Chronology and several paintings..
The artists treated are:Titian, Bruegel, Rubens, Rembrandt, Goya, Turner, Pissarro, Manet, Whistler, Degas, Cezanne, Monet, Renoir, Gaugin, Van Gogh and Toulouse-Lautrec. No authors are credited in this book. Presumably they are credited in the original books. Detailed and a pleasure to look at. ( )

This is a book of paintings, and a quick blurb on each of the artists heading their section.
Not much for reading, but it has some GREAT pictures! ( )
