Gail Gibbons book illustrates all types of watercraft and boats along how each vessel operates. The book starts off with kayaks and canoes and works all the way up to super tankers. Each type of water craft or vessel is defined followed along with illustrations. This is a great book for young children who live along the coast line as they can use this as a reference to identify the many vessels that go up and down the coast.

Boats come in different sizes and shapes. Some boats use wind, oars, or paddles to move them. Some are super size and others are small that move boats. Some boats move fast and others are used to carry people on them.

This book is informational. It describes different types of boats how they operate and where they are typically found. I would recommend this book for children 3-5.
