I was so excited about this story where only children/teenagers survive a plane crash and end up on a deserted island. It's one of my favorite themes!

Sadly, this book was disappointing. It's far too long, and the story doesn't really go anywhere. It ends abruptly without any kind of closure. I didn't care at all about the characters; and I thought much of their knowledge was unrealistic for their ages. ( )

Much prefer this as a story of kids stranded, trying to survive than 'Lord of the Flies'. No, they aren't all lovely individuals, but I found them more believable. Despite the lack of happy ever after, successfully upbeat ending. ( )
