When Judith and Jack Brown were Friends in Residence at Pendle Hill in 1995, Judith took Nancy Frommelt's course "Global Spirituality and Earth Ethics." In the class, she encountered more fully that before the metaphysical idea that the Earth could be considered the Body of God. Suddenly, her environmental concerns switched from being civic duties to spiritual obligations. This pamphlet is a collection of moving meditations that evolved from that experience. This is a pamphlet of ruminations; in all not very interesting. The best passage I think is: "Too much of my motivation for working on the environment is anger... Anger leads too often to despair. I believe... the Spirit was instructing me... to be less strained about my concern, more contemplative, more present in nature, more meditative and open to sensing the holy in nature." no reviews | add a review
