There are some story threads that feel incomplete or unnecessary. As a sports movie, it doesn't work at all (which isn't surprising since roller derby is a pretty much unfilmable game). ( )

I have no idea if this is an accurate picture of the world of roller derby, but I really had fun watching it. A girl defies her pageant obsessed mother to join a roller derby team. ( )
