NCLA Review - This is an excellent resource to help Christians understand the Qur’an as it translates it into simple terms. Each sura, or chapter, of the Qur’an is given with a commentary to aid in understanding the text as well as to give ideas for evangelism. The authors include a glossary of Arabic terms, important dates in Islam, Biblical names and references in the Qur’an as well as background information on Muhammad and how the revelation of the Qur’an is different from that of the Bible. Building bridges in order to reach Muslims for Christ is the intent of this book. Dr. Ghattas, a Christian raised in North Africa, is a native speaker of Arabic and served for more than twenty-five years as a missionary to Muslims across the world. His wife served in the mission field for more than seventeen years, and they have both a practical as well as academic knowledge of the Qur’an and the Muslim culture. This book would be a valuable addition to any church library. Rating: 4 —AL ( )
