The three stories here, "The Green-Eyed Monster", "Death of a Jester", and "The Stone-Age Caper", are all nice bits of action with O'Donnell's clever dialogue, but expand little or not at all upon the personas of Modesty and Willie, which I consider the best part of the stories. In addition, the artwork has been taken over by Romero, a competent enough fantasy artist, but incapable of the range needed by a Modest Blaise story. The action is stiff, expressions are limited, and the women all have that same stereotyped fantasy/glamour combo of impossibly curvaceous athleticism. Come to think of it, so do the men.
