A fun way to teach history, and really get kids and young adults into learning. Even as an older teen, and adult, I still learned from these books, and enjoyed the ride along the way. ( )

Children's series fiction;adventure/mystery. Linda Sue Park's contribution provides a vivid setting, great historical details (pirates!), and plenty of adventure to satisfy young readers. This is also the book in which the identity and motives of the man in black (now dressed in gray) are revealed. ( )

Amy and Dan Cahill are continuing their hunt for the 39 Clues and this story carries them into the world of pirates and treasure and permits them to learn information so that they can once again use their nanny, Nellie's aid.

Every child loves adventure and this one is definitely one they would enjoy. ( )

Throughout the hunt for the 39 Clues, Amy and Dan have encountered some of the darkest aspects of history . . . and had to deal with the role their family played. But are they ready for the truth? In this thrilling ninth installment, Amy and Dan hit the high seas as they follow the trail of some infamous ancestors to track down a long lost treasure. However, the real prize isn't hidden in a chest. It's the discovery of the Madrigals' most dangerous secret and, even more shockingly, the true identity of the mysterious man in black. In this exhilarating installment, Amy and Dan discover long-hidden secrets of the Cahills--a secret so dangerous that people died to protect it.
