English fiction seems to embrace the idea of not trusting government not to have hidden agendas. In this one it's a group of teenages who have psychic talents who end up in a school run by the British Government. As John spends more time in the school he finds out that not everything is as it seems and he doesn't have as much choice as it might appear. Powerful stuff, a little dated but makes you think. Marred a little by first novel issues. ( )
