Book description
There have always been plenty of rumors about Death Valley. A poisoned watering hole. Hostile Indians. A legendary lost gold mine. A herd of ghostly golden horses kept by a beautiful woman. Most people just avoid the place. But Johnny Lightfoot changes that when he rides into the nearby town of Mormon Lake. He has an unnaturally fast horse and a gold nugget that matches ore from the lost mine. Suddenly the race is on to see who will be the first to the riches—and who will be the first to see Death Valley live up to its name.
