A brief biography of the Indian chief who is best known for his military retreat of 1877.

This would be a good book for relating history to locations that students are familiar with. Although the book is not overly filled with facts, it paints a picture of how events transpired from the prospective of the Natives. The pictures are done in a beautiful sepia watercolor style. It covers from the time he was a young child until his death, and the struggles he faced as he tried to lead his people to Canada. ( )
