Like Bowen’s first book, this one is heavy on the anecdotes. Readers who are already on board with the Complaint Free concept might be better off reading the communication chapter in The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People. The chapter on venting vs. “processing,” called “Getting It Out,” does stand out, however. While venting is a harmful concentration on the negative and is generally just intended to garner sympathy or attention, processing (working through your own feelings about something) can be helpful as long as it follows C-A-N. It must be Complaint Free, About yourself (not another person who might be involved), and Neutral. ( )

This is a great book about relationships; one that I will read/listen to again and again. It's touching and practical and doesn't limit itself to romantic or work relationships. And if you've already read "A Complaint Free World" this is a great addition to the knowledge (not just a repeat which I was worried about:) ( )
