A good book on the Global Women's movement that de-centers the United States and Europe as the origins of all things feminist. Antrobus counters the stereotype of passive or un-feminist third-world women trapped in their villages awaiting rescue by the affluent West. However, it also presents a rather triumphant narrative of the women's movement, and I am not totally convinced that it makes sense to talk about "a global women's movement" as opposed to several women's movements.
