This is a very engaging autobiographical account of the author's work as a missionary in Moz (Mozambique). It takes place mostly in the years from 1991 through 2001, although she backs up to tell the story of what set her on her path from Texas to Africa. She relates many narrow escapes from snakes (lots of mambas and spitting cobras!), acts of God (bush fires, hurricane storms, floods, drought), war, famine and Satan himself (in the form of many of the aforementioned tribulations). She appears to be undaunted in the face of all of these obstacles, but is quick to credit not herself but God for all of her confidence and ensuing success. Her love for the people, children especially, of Moz comes through loud and clear. ( ) no reviews | add a review
