1970, East End of London and Annie Carter and her friends are back in the third instalment in the series of books.

I always like to read books in order and have done so far but I do think that this book can be just picked up without reading the other two. There are plenty of flashbacks for the reader to get the gist.

In this instalment of Annie's life, she's trying to continue after Maxs death in a very man world. Its not easy and its made worse for her when prostitutes are getting murdered. This series of books are very much in the vain of Martina Cole. I don't think they are as course as MC books but still are in keeping with their setting.

The book was an enjoyable read and the character's lives have plenty going on and its clear there is more to follow in the next book. I won't be in a rush to go snd get thd next book but wouldn't not ignore it either. ( )
