The storyline jumped around too much and some of the character depictions were upsetting and distasteful. D. D. Warren is annoying. And I was bored. Gave up at about 35%. ( )

Lisa Gardner is one of my favorite authors and DD Warren is one of my favorite characters. The main character lives with a family trauma in the back of her mind. However, she tries to help children who have also had family trauma. The storyline was great and the characters were believable.

Someone is killing families. Each of the families has a child who once was a patient in a mental pediatric unit. Detective D.D. Warren has to figure out who is doing this before another family is murdered. Several of the nurses in the pediatric unit, and family members of the victims become suspects. ( )

Another awesome story!!! Went back and forth between at lest three different characters being the "bad guy" before finally realizing it was my first pick after all!! Great story telling. Great character development! Keep writing Lisa Gardner!! Never stop!! ( )

This is the third Gardner book I've read and I love how she builds the story and keeps you wanting to turn the page until the books ends too quickly.

I liked the story that she created for this book with the different character, D.D. Warren, the detective that has occurred in three other books, Danielle, a workaholic, and Victoria, and struggling single mother who has one very scary child. Gardner takes these three characters on one very scary and somewhat unsettling ride as she pulls you into the story

I really thought this was a fantastic book and my favorite Gardner so far
