"Guerrilla" arranca con el Che en lo más alto de su popularidad y poder tras la Revolución Cubana, cuando pronuncia un vehemente discurso en las Naciones Unidas, reafirma su compromiso con la lucha del Tercer Mundo contra el imperialismo de los EE.UU. Más que un soldado, el Che es una glamorosa figura de nivel mundial.
De repente desaparece de la faz de la Tierra sin dejar rastro. ¿Por qué se ha ido de Cuba? ¿Adónde ha ido? ¿Acaso sigue con Vida?

El Che reaparece de incógnito en Bolivia, irreconocible y realizando operaciones encubiertas. Organiza un pequeño grupo de camaradas cubanos y reclutas bolivianos para comenzar la Gran Revolución Latinoamericana. La campaña boliviana del Che es una aventura de tenacidad, sacrificio, idealismo y guerra de guerrillas que en último término fracasa, conduciendo al Che a su muerte.

A través de esta historia llegamos a comprender por qué el Che sigue siendo un símbolo del idealismo y del heroísmo que habita en los corazones de personas de todo el mundo..

Etter at den cubanske revolusjonen var over og Fidel Castro satt med makten på Cuba, hadde Che Guevara allerede rukket å bli et ikon for undertrykkede mennesker ikke bare i Latin-Amerika, men over hele verden.

I stedet for å leve et godt og trygt liv på Cuba, gikk Che under jorden for så å dukke opp i Bolivia hvor han mobiliserte til kamp. Det gikk ikke så bra denne gangen, for kampen om Bolivia ble tapt og betydde slutten for Che. Men underveis forstår vi hvorfor han ble det ikonet han ble. For mange står han fremdeles som et symbol for folkets frihet.

Filmen er storslått, selv om den ikke hadde helt det samme drivet som i del 1. Begge filmene er basert på Che Guevaras egne dagboknotater. Jeg håper riktig mange ser begge filmene, og får et dypere forhold til ham enn kun å kjenne ham som et kult bilde på en T-skjorte eller en plakat. Benicio del Toro er intet mindre enn fantastisk som Che Guevara! ( )
