The Fate Of The Jedi saga continues with this novel as Luke and Ben actually work alongside the Sith to hunt down Abeloth. This one also starts to move the overall plot of this particular saga along more so than the previous entries. The Jedi Council starts to break up their stalemate (thankfully), and more light is shed on the mentally disturbed Jedi that have haunted Han and Leia and the Council since book one. Hopefully the next one will further provide answers to the issues being faced by the main characters. ( )

For a Denning Star Wars book, I actually really enjoyed this. So far, everything he has touched has rotted, but this was ok.
And it is about time the Jedi get pro-active, instead of serene [and dead] ( )

I really loved this when I "Read" it. However it had been months since I finished and since I needed a refresher by reading Amazon to even remember what happened, I have to make it loose a star.

I'm not really sure where the "Vortex" name comes from. However it appears to be of little importance. In this continue chapter of the Fate of the Jedi series, the adventures off world with Ben Skywalker and the Sith Girl Vestara actually become believable. The awkward teenage love story beings to see both of them struggling with "pretending" to like the other to suite their fathers. The Sith attack (big surprise) and Luke finds yet another secret group of force users that would have been helpful in the movies.

Back on Corresant, we see Airmouth really go in stride as the lawyer of the sword of the Jedi, he even had me convinced that he was incompetent.

As always the Hann and Lei part is the bet with their humour and love still growing.

The reporting of the slave revolt in the outer rim planets really had me tearing up at the time. Yet another reason to recommend the series on audio-book or dead tree ( )

Better than the previous ones. It provides an idea of where this is entirely headed to. I'll be waiting for Conviction to arrive in the next few months. ( )
