Heston is back with six new feasts inspired by history, literature and legend. Each chapter charts the realisation of a feast, with its challenges and ideas, culminating with the final recipes. This time, the feasts are based on themes which range from the whimsical to the phantasmagorical.

This is a great companion to the TV series. I do like reading about his creations. Although, it is not a replacement to the TV series. Nothing beats seeing the series. Viewing the creative process and the creations. The awful things that he finds in old cookbooks for the general public and the wondrous things he creates for his guests. The full range of responses from both the general public and his lucky guests are priceless to watch and unfortunately not an aspect of the companion book. If he had included some of his guests reactions I would have given this book a 5 rating. ( )

The only thing I got from this book is that Mr B prefers being in the kitchen and playing with his food to almost everything else.
