This is the forth book in the Kelly Jones series and it's much like the previous one, wicked dark in tone. Kelly's recovering from the injury that she sustained at the end of the last book. Jake and his 'Longhorn Group' people head down to Mexico to save Jake's brother. Kelly goes with them for her own reasons.

Syd is a big part of the story, unfortunately, since I don't like Syd's character very much it was hard to read. It also seems to me that Jake's character has been going downhill for the past couple of books. Kelly's character was still interesting. All the stuff about how Kelly was recovering from her injury was interesting too, as were some of the minor characters and some of the big twists in the story.

I can't say that Mexico is painted in the best light for sure, although from the news that comes out of down south the US, it's not off the truth by too much.

It was a good book, an excellent thriller and a solid four stars for sure. ( )
