(Fictitious character) Xenia's father, Alexander Chornoroukaya was sent to Siberia for some political reason. He couldn't afford to go back, so he became a teacher there, married, and had Xenia. Unfortunately, he was an alcoholic and his wife left, leaving Xenia with him. Xenia, determined to get away, worked very hard in school, and was able to win a place in Moscow.
Xenia is full of resentment against the world, but she is very good at masking with apparent diffidence. She is very determined and focused on her goals, which at this point is remaining in the UK permanently.. When she finds out the Jean Loftus had the same last name, she wrote to her hoping that she would help her get a visa to England. Jean ignored her, and it was Naomi who decided to help her and let her live in her and Marcus' home. She helps Zita find jobs for pocket money, and decides that when Lynne, who works for Zita and Tom Daunsey goes on her vacation, Xenia should take her place.
