I just "found" this group and it sounds exciting. I love fiction .. I also love biographies. I've read many of the books on the "Most commonly shared books" so I think I'm in the right place. I have been in a drought of good fiction books lately. I just finished 2 that were high on the NYTimes book review and didn't like either one of them. I'm on my way to the bookstore to purchase Interpreting of Maladies, and August: Osage County. Any comments on either one???? Thanks. Keith (I am a female Keith) -- I know it sounds weird - it's a family thing.

Welcome to the group, Keith. You can't go wrong with Interpreter of Maladies. Wonderful book, wonderful writing. I don't know the other one. Look forward to hearing what you think of them.

I loved Interpreter of Maladies, too. Did you read her other book, The Namesake?

No, not yet but I plan to read all her books. Was thrilled to see her new collection of short stories, Unaccustomed Earth zip to the top of the NYT best seller list.
