Ce livre maintient une interprétation fascinante de la vie. L’ambiguïté et la fluidité entre le réel et l’imaginaire est un thème constant du livre. L’échange continuel entre plusieurs temps – le passé, le présent, et le futur – suggère que la réalité n’est pas concrète, mais fluide, ce qui est confirmé par les liens entre l’imaginaire et le réel. Quant aux temps, le présent anime le passé, le passé sculpte le présent, et le futur est à imaginer, dépendamment de l’influence des deux autres temps. Dans ce livre, le passé, le futur et le présent prennent la parole l’un après l’autre ; le livre entier est un dialogue entre les trois temps. En outre, on doit conclure, surtout à la fin du livre, que tous les trois sont constamment dans un état de renégociation, parce que (et voici l'important du livre) la vraie version d’une histoire est impossible à trouver.
