Sorry, the whole setting just did not seem very realistic to me. ( )

This sixth book in the Bodyguards in Love series was as fascinating for me to read as the others. There was Raven's and Ghazi's story, but on top of that I got to see more of the ongoing developments, and some old favorite characters made a reappearance. This book's engaging characters and interesting plot kept me captivated.

I loved learning more about the background of mysterious bodyguard Raven. He's one of those men who have a reputation due to what they used to do - and now not only believe it's true but can't figure out how to "escape". Raven, despite his macho behavior, has issues of self worth that stop him from believing he's good enough for the man he's fallen in love with.

Crown Prince Ghazi has become king of Jurru, and is attracted to Raven. He believes he needs to wait for a better time to give in to his attraction. The tumultuous pre-election preparations, he thinks, will take too much of his personal time, and he assumes that Raven would not understand.

The way that both men make assumptions about the other means the road to happiness is especially difficult for them. Add in some external obstacles in the shape of a mystery around some young children, and the scene is set for a wonderful read.

I've enjoyed the series but really enjoyed this one. I think part of the problem was the added element of helping young people in trouble. I really liked getting to visit with old friends from earlier books as well. Great end. ( )
