plot & character development are very weak--didn't finish the book ( )

And the last one is gone too... I feel somewhat bereft now that I've reached the end, but I know that someday I will re-read them all, and enjoy them again, if in a different way.

The only part of this book that left me somewhat detached concerned the Laheng liberation war: I could not muster too deep an interest in it, either. On the other hand, this book offers some of the absolute best dialogues concerning feelings, their various degrees and the way that people deal with them. The exchanges between Jax and March and Jax and Vel are the highest points of the whole story, and some passages were extremely moving.

What I appreciated most was that, even though there IS a happy ending, there is no romantic walk into the rosy horizon: people still have personal issues to deal with, they know there will be hard times ahead and they will still have to *work* for relationships to work.
On hindsight this is what connectcs me with this series more than anything else. Hat off to Aguirre for being consistent to the end.

I love this series so much! I loved this ending too, it was perfect, the only problem with it is that it's THE END! *cries both happy and sad* ( )

A satisfying end to one of my favourite series ever. ( )

Initial reaction: Not the best book in the lot, but I have such a soft spot for Jax and the gang, that I'm a bit forgiving with this series. I can't help but be saddened that it's all over. Sigh. No more Brown Bird and White Wave. Sigh. I is sad. ( )
