There are newer editions of this book that include such fancy things as disc brakes and suspension forks, but if you ride a bike made between, say, 1975 and 2000 you should be fine with this edition. Don't quote me on that, though. I think this edition is from 1995 and I have found it extremely helpful in the past. The pages of my copy are covered in grease, and I still keep it on the workbench for easy access if needed. This edition may seem a bit dated (it is from 1995), but bicycles and their parts don't change all that much (therein lies their beauty). The close-up shots and step-by-step instructions will get you where you need to be. If you need more information, the website of Sheldon Brown (RIP) is a good place to start. ( )
