Thomas Rose discovers Ling in a ditch and is instantly captivated by her stories of life with the circus and how she used to dance on the back of her horse Belladonna. Ling asks Thomas to help her find her missing horse and so Thomas’ life and future changes.
This book is set in 1757 and gives a good picture of life in those times. Whilst it may initially appeal to horses lovers it is really more about Thomas than Belladonna. Suitable for teens who enjoy historical fiction. ( )
