"Thanks to Connor, Lev, and Risa, and their high-profile revolt at Happy Jack Harvest Camp, people can no longer turn a blind eye to unwinding. Ridding society of troublesome teens and, in the same stroke, providing much-needed tissues for transplant might be convenient, but its morality has finally been brought into question. However, unwinding has become big business, and there are powerful political and corporate interests that want to see it not only continue, but expand, allowing the unwinding of prisoners and the impoverished. Cam is a teen who does not exist. He is made entirely out of the parts of other unwinds. Cam, a 21st century Frankenstein, struggles with a search for identity and meaning, as well as the concept of his own soul, if indeed a rewound being can have one. When a sadistic bounty hunter who takes "trophies" from the unwinds he captures starts to pursue Connor, Risa and Lev, Cam finds his fate inextricably bound with theirs"--… (more)

The second in the Unwind series. Not quite at good as the first one, but it still delivers some fairly excellent action and some fun twists. I can’t wait to see what comes next with these characters and their stories. ( )

I had read the first book of this series, before becoming a teacher. I loved it! Then, I reread the first book again this year because my goal is to actually the series one after another (or close to it). Having read UnWholly, the second book in the series, it really makes me wonder if we're not heading in this direction or some form of this outcome. A lot of the key factors that lead the "Heartland War" are some of the factors we are starting to in today's society.

There's a lot that rings true in this book. From "feral teens" causing mayhem in society, to "part pirates" this book and series has a lot reality weaved into it. It actually gave me mild anxiety.

In terms of the second book, Shuesterman really delivered. I will admit that it was a slow build at first, but if you stick with it, you won't be disappointed. I did find myself having to look back at the first book to remember some of the characters but once I remembered who was who, everything fell into place. This books gives up a even deeper look at to how "unwinding" became a reality and how easy it was to have society accept it.

Shuesterman really knows how to create tension, build up the climax, and leave you hanging on every word right to the very end. I can't wait to dig into the 3rd book...I'm almost scared to get to the end of the series (even though there's 5 books in the series). Honestly this book and series would make for an excellent movie! Unwholly is the second book of the Unwind Dystology. If you havent already read Unwind....you probably should.

Neal Shusterman continues the epic story of the AKRON AWOL and his friends, only in this one there is war within the ranks and enemies lurking in every dark ally waiting to capture and sell Unwinds to the black market....these peope are Parts Pirates and Connor is wanted!

Just finished UnWholly. I got it the first day it was available and had to force myself to read it slowly, to savor it and enjoy the ride. This book lived up to my expectations and more. Unwind was one of the rare books that was so good, as soon as I finished it and closed the book I opened it back up and started again. I can't recommend these books enough. This review is a little incoherent right now since I just finished it and I'm gathering my thoughts, but I just wanted to add to the UnWholly love! ( )
