Army agent Nate Patterson leads the investigation, and Amy finds his protective presence comforting, but her sister had suspicions some of the Military Police were involved in criminal dealings she was investigating before she died. Unsure of who to trust, Maggie tries to convince Nate her sister was definitely murdered--without telling him her sister's secrets.
With her life--and heart--in the balance, will Maggie finally learn to trust Nate with the necessary information before the killer strikes again?
Debby Giusti weaves faith, romance and suspense together in a soul-searching read that warms the heart while keeping you on your toes.
Nate's character is the perfect hero. A gentleman, he is chivalrous to a fault, while at the same time wounded and flawed just enough to make him have to work hard to win his lady's heart.
I was able to relate to Amy's character, though we don't have a terrible lot in common. I couldn't figure that one except to attribute it to Giusti's storytelling skill.
I would recommend this story to any fan of military suspense and tv shows like NCIS. This is the first book I read by this author and will not be the last. Looking forward to more of her books.
