I loved the relaxed atmosphere of the Canary Islands and the deep connection between the women. Learning to live from the stomach up, embracing life and taking risks, was a sweet lesson. I also loved seeing Todd's Dad find love. ( )

Finding herself at a point in her life where she is ready for a new adventure, Carolyn goes to visit her mother in the Canary Islands. There, she meets Bryan Spencer, who was her teenage crush years ago when she first visited the islands. But before she can enter into a relationship, Carolyn must deal with her own emotions related to her husband's tragic death seven years previously.

If you enjoy inspirational romance novels featuring mature protagonists, this is worth a read. I enjoyed the descriptions of Canary culture, but I thought some of the relationships between characters were a bit lacking. ( )

This was the second book in the hideaway series.

I have enjoyed Robins' books for years but after reading this one I wonder if I have outgrown her.

I enjoyed the Christy and Todd books and also the Sisterchick books but this one just didn't sit well with me.

Carolyn goes to visit her mom and for a week, her daughter then shows up.
Her twin sister is never heard from again. I just didn't get the enjoyment out of this book.
