I'm enjoying the loops of these books, but it does start to feel very much similar from book to book. ( )

This book is basically like one of those episodes that come after a TV series is over -- "The Brady Bunch Reunion in Hawaii" or whatever, where all kinds of characters from previous episodes and story arcs show up. It's not one of my favorites, although it was interesting to see characters I hadn't yet seen in the "If you give a ..." series. ( )

"If you Give a Pig a Party" is a book about a pig who asks for a party. Throughout the book the pig is asking to do things to set up for her party such as asking for balloons and putting on her favorite dress. This book would be a good book to use for guided reading because it can be used to ask multiple different comprehension questions. For example, this book could be used to ask students to think about the sequencing in the book. These types of questions would allow students to think critically about the text after they read it.
