Maeve was definitely a thorny character, which I like. The language was a little modern for the story but overall a good entry for the Sevenwaters saga, if still not nearly as strong as the first three books. ( )

I have to say, I think I liked Maeve better than all of the other Sevenwaters women before her. I'm not quite sure what it is. But she is rather fantastic. And this book was sooo lovely. I'm sad that it seems like the series is finally at it's close. I've loved it dearly ever since I randomly found Daughter of the Forest as a freshman in high school. ( )

I usually don't review Juliet Marillier books but this one made me breathe with relief. I must confess that the seer of sevenwaters disappointed me, so i was afraid this one would too.
But it didn't. Although I could predict things far ahead I still was there right beside Maeve in all her journey.

I wish this one wasn't the last. But if it was it was great! ( )
