I think this book was easy to read, but didficult to understand. There were many characters in the story. I was confused a little due to

The house of the Seven Gables was built by Colonel Phncheon, but the same day he finished the house he died in his chair. Was this because of a wizard's curse? Hawthorne answer's this question, and gives us a love story too.
