Anya Gage has learned that to get anything good in life, you have to work for it. She has no expectations, no dreams.

Then she finds herself at a party where she doesn't want to be and she meets Knight.

Knight Sebring knows who he is, what he wants and what he likes. And he gets it. But he never expected something as sweet as Anya Gage to wander into his bedroom during a party he did not expect to be having to borrow his phone.

Knight tries to leave Anya to the life she deserves of white picket fences and a man who watches football on Sundays â?? good, normal and clean. But when Anya comes to his nightclub and finds herself in a situation, he knows someone has to look after her, he can't fight it anymore and he decides that man will be him.

Knight teaches Anya that, just as with the bad, in life you should also expect the good. And he teaches her this by giving it to her.

But Knight has a dark past and just as he desires Anya for exactly who she is, he fears when she finds out exactly the man he has become and always intends to be, she'll leave him for good, normal and clean.… (more)

1st the style it is written in is very different than any book I have read before. I had to get familiar with it. The rhythm and speech was that different for me. Other than that it flowed smoothly.
Even though I prefer multi P.O.V. type formats this style allowed the main character, Anya, to be more real.
I am very impressed and will be exploring a lot more of her books. The writing literally makes the main characters JUMP off the pages!
I LOVED IT!!

This was okay. I didn't like it as well as most of KA's books. I think the characterization of both H and h was not quite there. They were more one dimensional than normal for this author. Part of this is perhaps because almost the entire book was just the two of them and one of KA's strengths is the interaction of the main characters with her interesting secondary characters.

The daddy thing that seems to be bothering everyone was kind of awkward. It either needed to be left out or more needed to be made of it. By that I mean some background and explanation of why it turned Knight on and why he wanted it. As it was it was just a weird word choice.

I really wish I had not read any spoilers for this. I usually don't mind spoilers but here since I knew, I was just waiting for the other shoe to fall. I didn't really mind the situation once Knight explained but I minded in my own thoughts a bunch while I was waiting for it to happen. As to his being such a bad boy, I didn't really feel it since we didn't see any scenes to illustrate it.

Ultimately, just okay. ( )
