With her thirtieth birthday looming, Emma Harrison finds her biological clock clanging and the elusive knight in shining armor yet to appear. She's running out of options, especially after her gay best friend backs out from being her sperm donor. Of course, there's always a sperm bank, but Emma fears a donor mix-up might impregnate her with the spawn of Satan. Resident company womanizer, Aidan Fitzgerald, is used to always getting what he wants, especially in the bedroom. When Emma spurns his advances at the company Christmas party, he's determined to have her no matter what it takes. After Aidan learns of Emma's predicament, he is quick to offer a proposition that will benefit them both. He will father Emma's child, but she must conceive it with him naturally. Not one for hook-ups or casual sex, Emma is reluctant to take him up on his offer, but his charm, coupled with her intense desire for motherhood, wins out. Soon their baby-making sessions become more than just physical. Aidan can't seem to walk away from her while Emma begins to wonder if Aidan could be the one. But can Aidan leave his past behind to become the man Emma needs him to be?… (more)

I can't believe I almost missed recording this one, and to make up for it I'm giving it an extra half star, as this was memorable.

Emma is tender-hearted; his heart is damaged and closed tight, and he's a player to cover it up.

It's got great banter between Aidan and Emma. Because they have their arrangement (the proposition), they are candid and just about honest with each other. He can be frank because she's in the know about his being a player. The way he studies up how he can be more fertile is sweet and touching!

Didn't much like sound of the narrator's voice, though it fit well for Emma and her tone for Aidan is great - Justine O. Keef.

The novel has an unusual ending for a romance, but the smack on the cheek of the HEA works well! ( )

I just can't. Between the multiple references to sissified city boys or having man cards revoked or pansies and the utterly unlikable characters, I hated this book. I'll try another one of the author's books in the future but man oh man did this book make me angry. ( )

Fuck you Aidan.

I love the idea within this book, and I would love to see it done better and differently. I love the idea of this man agreeing to father this random lady's child.

...I don't like a lot of things that happened though. Especially the ending. FUCK YOU AIDAN! AAARGH

AND THEN THERE IS A CLIFFHANGER. I'M GOING TO SLAY SOMEONE!!!

The writing isn't the best, but the audiobook narrator actually somehow manages to make it worse. I was totally turned off by pretty much every single sex scene in the book because of her.

This book has really..done something to me. Can't describe exactly what, but something. ( )

Emma, turning 30, having wanting a baby for years is desperate to have one any way she can. Her gay best friend backs out of donating his sperm for her. She has had so much heartbreak over the years. She thought this was her only shot at having a baby. Enter the womanizing Aidan. He offers up his sperm, but not in the “conventional” way of donating. He has wanted her since he first saw her. So here is his chance to get in her pants. The only way she is getting his donation is through the old fashioned way…. sex.

As they begin their journey to give Emma a baby, emotions start to get in the way. Aidan starts experiencing feelings he hasn’t felt before. So what is a man to do when faced with feelings? He runs. He fucks up. He sabotages.

This book is absolutely amazing. I read it in two sittings. I could not put it down. I was rooting for the two to get over themselves and their issues with themselves and just open up their hearts to one another the whole way through. Man was I surprised when the truths of why they both were in this agreement started coming out.

I read this in one sitting, to the extremes of not being able to put it down for anything. Yes, I broke my rule of keeping my tablet away from water - several times, just so I could keep reading.

I just *adored* the characters. Although it would have been nice to see Connor a bit more. The families of the H/h felt real and genuine.

I even dug the fact that Emma reigns in her feelings, and that Aidan DEFINITELY isn't perfect.

I honestly don't know what I'll do knowing the second part won't be out for *months*. I hope it gets added to Amazon's database, so I can add it to my wish list!

Can't wait to read the rest of Emma & Aidan's story! ( )
