This collection of stories begins in The Caravan Family when Daddy comes home after two years his wife and their three children Mike,Belinda and Anne. They go looking for the house of their dreams when they come across two gypsie caravan which they get for free. In the Sausy Jane Family Mummy's friend who lives in a house boat she allows them to stay there when she goes away on holiday. In The Pole Star Family Granny is ill and the children get whooping cough so Granny books a cruise around Europe and Africa when they all get better. In The Seaside Family the family take the caravan to the seaside with Benjy whose the son of Daddy's friend and his mother is very ill. In The Queen Elizabeth Family the family go to New York sailing on Queen Elizabeth luxury liner ( )
