It's one thing to bring the woman you love back into your life. It's another to try and keep her there. For Dex Foray, convincing Perry Palomino to open herself to their burgeoning relationship has been more challenging than hunting ghosts, battling demons, and stalking Sasquatch combined. Add in the fact that the only way they can keep their Experiment in Terror show running is to take on a third partner in the form of the mysterious Maximus Jacobs-all while investigating a sinister voodoo sect in New Orleans-and you've got the perfect Southern storm and a recipe for disaster. Luckily, Dex has never been one to back down, even when his life-and heart-are on the line. Contains mature themes.… (more)

I wanted to give it more, but again, the editing was horrendous. And, I don't think I really liked reading from Dex's POV. In a way it was nice to be in his head for a bit, but it got wearing after a short time. That coupled with my loathing of Max...it was not my favorite.

On the up side, I don't hate Max anymore, you finally find out what the deal is with him. And, the main characters' story seems to settle a bit. Finally. After 7 books!

I still like the series, but I'm missing the creep factor. I need a good ghost story, like the lighthouse, or the leaper island again. ( )

First Reactions: So... New Orleans means Max is involved, right? Cause I need some answers about that creepy ginger.

And now I read that it is TOTALLY in Dex's POV! LOVE IT!! As much as I love Perry (she is the entire reason I read this series), it will be interesting to get a different perspective... FOR AN ENTIRE BOOK!

Now that I've read it : Well, that certainly wasn't what I was expecting.

I can't say that I thought I would walk away from this book almost liking he-who-shall-be-called "ginger balls", and thinking that Dex isn't half bad. The reasons for my ginger-balls hate should be obvious, but with Dex... I've been on Perry's side for all of these books, and her walking away from him has seemed like a good idea on multiple occasions. In this book, living in his head for a bit changed my opinion of him.

Dex was just as pervy as I would have expected, but something about it was totally organic and felt natural. He has an interesting sort of logical and moral code he lives by. I think Karina Halle made an excellent decision in bringing us his voice and letting us into his head space for a bit. Especially considering some of the stuff that was revealed to him... And not revealed to Perry.

Almost sad to see him go, but I am looking forward to getting back to Perry again in the next one. She's my girl, and I feel like she's got a bit of an uphill climb left before it's all over with. ( )

YEAH!!! I knew this one would be good, and slightly disturbing (it is Dex after all)... this book was EPIC. 'Nuff said. ( )

I loved reading a story from pervy Dex's point of view. ( )

I am addicted to this series. Each book just keeps getting better and better. Until I read this one, Lying Season was my absolute fav in this series. Now this book takes the # 1 spot.

I love that the book is set in New Orleans which is steeped in supernatural lore. Dex and Perry are together again but are forced to work with Maximus, who has proven to be a troublemaker in the past in order to revive their online show. Previous events have now paved the way for Dex and Perry's relationship to finally have a chance, but nothing is ever easy for this couple, and this time, the obstacles they face seem unsurmountable.

Their current investigation of a supposed haunted house immerses them into the dark and deadly world of voodoo and zombies. The story is full of twists and turns that build to a suspenseful, nail biting climatic ending that took my breath away and left me clamoring for the next book. ( )
