Widow Strike by Brad Taylor is a thriller along the lines of Brad Thor and Tom Clancy. The story is about a private company setup to carry out deniable missions for a secret government agency under the direct control of the President. This story is about a planned terrorist strike by an Iranian general in the Revolutionary Guards.

The main character Pike Logan is an ex-member of the secret government agency that was directed to set up a private firm that would be able to carry out deniable missions overseas. His main problem is that he sometimes acts without proper authority while on the missions, because he doesn't wait for approval of his plan of action.

The story takes place in Thailand, Singapore, Chechnya, US, and in the Caribbean.

It is a good read with plenty of unbelievable action sequences that always seem to come out alright. ( )

A genetically mutated virus, a pissed off Iranian Intelligence officer and a Chechen female suicide bomber (a member of a terrorist group known as the Black Widows) make for an explosive story. Pike Logan and the Taskforce must stop her before she can release the virus on US soil.

The Pike Logan thrillers are a well written, exciting action-packed series of novels and this one is no different. Characters are well developed, there are plot twists and enough to keep this reader interested to the end. ( )

"Though The Widow’s Strike is packaged like a run-of-the-mill suspense thriller, I was pleased to find Brad Taylor's action intriguing and his characters to be well-crafted and convincingly developed."
