No reading information available for this book of poems for children. In general the artwork is okay. The poems though don't do anything for me. I didn't find them particularly noteworthy but it's always interesting to have a different sort of poetry book around. I'd just as soon read children Shel Silverstein's thought provoking productions.

I've been waiting
So long on this tray,
I'm not a hot dog,
I'm a cold dog today.

This book contains multiple short poems about a typical school day. I enjoyed this book because it was realistic but had a touch of humor. I would recommend this book for grades K-3.

This is a great book of poems for younger school age children. The book has poems related to tings pertaining to school, such as " Math Test", " Ten Ants in the Classroom" and other funny poems. the illustrating are very cute and funny. The text and font style is formatted to draw attention to children.

I bought this book for my classroom years ago. I really enjoyed this book and the kids love reading the poems. The poems are visually attractive and very funny, so the children enjoy relating to the school related silliness of each poem.

In the classroom, I would read a story each week to the students and then have them make their own school related poems. Also it would be fun to have the children illustrate their own book of poems. There are companies that will publish books of class poems. ( )

This book has a collection of funny school related poems. The poems were about different aspects of the school day, like the playground, lunchtime, and even school supplies. I liked the poem where the words went down the page sideways. The poems have a lot of good rhyming word and some poems were based on repetition. This book would be good to introduce children to poetry.

Personal Reaction

I really don't care for poetry, so this humorous approach to poetry is welcoming. I think of poetry as serious and meaningful, but this book really lightens it up. School children would love these silly poems about school.

Classroom Extensions

- When teaching the subject of poetry and learning the different styles, this would be a great introductory book.

-After listening to the book, all of the children could create their own silly school poem. ( )
