(65) Scholastic channels the success of its Babysitters Club series for younger children in this series of books targeted at girls in lower elementary grades. Bold line drawings accompany this transitional chapter book about making friends, solving an environmental concern, and being entrepreneurial. A nice antidote to the fairies and fantasy titles for young female readers. ( )

Coco: My Delicious Life by Kyla May

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Coco: My Delicious Life by Kyla May is the second book in the Lotus Lane children's book series. Each book centers around a different member of the Lotus Lane Girls club. The book is wrote as if it IS the journal of Coco. She tells us about herself , her family and her friends. Her parents gave her the diary as a present when her painting of her chihuahua, Evie, won the 'most lifelike' award at the school art fair.
The book is charmingly decorated with doodles and diagrams and is a very fun read. ( )
