Dan Santat is the man, the illustrations are fabulous. I especially like the shark's helmet full of water. I have a very small bit of sympathy for the 1 star reviews, but if you're a vegetarian you're likely not reading this book to your children anyway. ( )

Everyone has feelings, even the big bad wolf. Trying thier best, the wolf, lion, and shark attempt to fit in and make their peers like them. This fittikng in included them not eating those peers, which was going to be harder than they thought.
As the story progresses and the characters begin to get discouraged the colors in the illustrations become duller. Later in the stories we slowly see the colors getting brighter again. ( )

Carnivores is a humorous book about a lion, a shark, and a timber wolf. These three feel that being at the top of the food chain can often times be lonely, as you don't have many friends, and the animals at the lower end of the food chain will often whisper and make fun of you behind your back! These three rascals try to change their ways and become vegetarians. This plan doesn't quite work, as they can't help but to follow their instincts, and eat meat!

Carnivores is a book about three carnivores (A Lion, a Shark, and a Wolf) coming to terms with the fact that nobody likes them because they keep eating everyone. They try becoming vegetarian, they try blending in, and eventually they call the wise old Horned Owl to help. The Owl tells them to suck it up because even though the other animals are mean to them, they're carnivores and they can just eat them. They then proceed to eat the Owl, which seems like a huge dick move. They are content with being the kings of their food chains.
This is not a book for vegans or vegetarian students. Might be best to leave this one on the shelf, but it's definitely funny!
