Der Missionar P. Paul Arndt S. V. D., 1886 in Rasselwitz, Schlesien, geboren, kam im Jahre 1917 bereits nach Flores. Schon im Jahre 1920 wurde er von seinen Oberen für die linguistische und ethnographische Erforschung der Insel freigestellt. Seither schenkte er der Wissenschaft mehr als ein Dutzend grundlegender Werke. Er lebt auf Mittelflores unter dem Volke der Ngadha. Ihm sei als bescheidener wie unzulänglicher Dank — für eine Lebensarbeit — diese kleine Ausstellung gewidmet.
