The How to Train Your Dragon series chronicles the adventures and misadventures of Viking underdog Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III and his dragon, Toothless. The first book in the series talks about a boy who's viking families job is to kill dragons, He ends up funding one and they become best friends.

Read this book and follow the story and see how unlikely people can become friends. What will happen? ( )

Being a fan of the movies and dragons in general, I bought this book. While you may only recognize some dragons (and characters) from the movies, you can clearly see what elements Dreamworks used in adapting the original series to the big screen and those were fun to find as I came across them.

I loved the unique artwork and the way that even as an encyclopedia-type book, it also kinda read like a story. It was a quick read (maybe a couple hours) and sometimes it even held my nephew's attention (who only cares about Cars and Little Einsteins). ( )
