"Even in the fathomless depths of the underworld and the bleak chambers of a damaged heart, the bonds of love can heal, or destroy. He holds the ability to annihilate souls in the palm of his hand. He commands the respect of the most dangerous of demons and the most powerful of angels. He can seduce and dominate any female he wants with a mere look. But for all Azagoth's power, he's bound by shackles of his own making, and only an angel with a secret holds the key to his release. She's an angel with the extraordinary ability to travel through time and space. An angel with a tormented past she can't escape. And when Lilliana is sent to Azagoth's underworld realm, she finds that her past isn't all she can't escape. A cute, sweet, quick read.

I am a follower of this series. I have been waiting since he was first brought into the story line for him to find his 'mate'.

You will truly enjoy this one. But if you haven't read all the other books in this series, start with the 1st book.

You will find yourself grinning as you read this book.
Enjoy!

I liked this but would have preferred it a full-length novel - the character development and plot seemed a little rushed. But I love these series! ( )

Ah, Azagoth. Even grim reapers, it seems, don’t want to miss out on love. When Azagoth demands the angels send him a mate, tired of all the women he’s been required to service over the years to create children who no longer speak to him, they send Liliana, who isn’t too thrilled about the idea. She is, however, thrilled about a nifty artifact Azagoth has that she thinks she might steal. If only she can figure out how to get it out of the underworld without her angel powers. Fun times. These novellas in the 1001 dark nights collection are a fun addition to the Demonica world, just long enough to make a satisfying romance, and with plenty of steam and angel-demon snark. Azagoth and Liliana both had tortured pasts and watching them slowly come around to each other was a treat.

Please excuse typos/name misspellings. Entered on screen reader.

The characters act like nincompoops a few times, but other than those points I enjoyed this story. It felt a bit 'Hades and Persephone', which is a favorite of mine. It really focused on the relationship rather than a bunch of other adventures and mysteries and things, and I liked watching the relationship develop (a fair amount for a novella!). And there was some character growth in there as well, which was nice. ( )

This is a novella read though I will say its actually pretty lengthy at 159 pages
Love this author but it has been a while since I have read her books so it was really great to slip back into this fascinating world.
This is about Azagoth the Grimm Reaper and the person in charge of sheoul-Gra and Lilliana a time-travelling Angel.
Both have been introduced in a lesser capacity in previous books.
Azagoth is sick of servicing snooty angels and producing Memitim children for the heavens now he wants a mate of his own and he has the leverage to ensure it happens.
Liliana is blackmailed by Raphael with a no-win choice to be that mate.
So I adored Azagoths A-hole sense of humour and loved the banter between him and his new mate.
Lilliana had such a sassy attitude and she wasn't scared by Azagoth giving it right back to him, these two make sparks fly with there chemistry.
I also really felt for Azagoth he just wanted something for himself to brighten up his lonely existence.
I especially loved the time travelling and Lilliana showing her new mate she accepted him for himself.
This was a great addition to the series really enjoyed it.
