Mike Sterling left his job as a Detective with the police force in Chicago for his hometown in Renland, Kansas and he did so to set his mother’s mind at ease. One day while eating at the local bar his eye was caught by Taryn Watts, they became acquainted, and it changed both of their lives. Both of them have issues to overcome and can help one another to do so. With their abodes so far apart in miles will they be able to deal with a long distance relationship and/or come up with a solution that will make them both happy? There was an introduction to Gabby who will star with Shane in the second book in this series and a few other people that may appear in future books were also introduced. This was a quick easy read that left me feeling good when I finished.

Thank you to NetGalley and Barclay Publicity for the copy of this book to read and review. ( )

Mike’s Way Back (Finding Perfect-Book One) by Amy Gregory

Mike Sterling was a cop in a small town. He hadn’t always been there, he grew up there and moved to Chicago to be a detective. Then a kid shot him and he nearly died from the bullet wound. He also killed the kid in self-defense. Everyone knew that but it didn’t help. Somewhere in this mix he went home early and you can probably guess the rest. Let’s just say he’s divorced.

Taryn Watts was the ultimate professional. She had her dream job in designing space for picky clients. She had two best friends, Andrew and Scott who were much more than friends to each other. She didn’t need complications. She just wanted to create a working space for her client’s culinary school.

Strong willed woman meets strong willed man. Hmmmmm. This book was a fun read, the characters well done and the humor wonderful! I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a little down time with some entertaining people. ( )

The first book in the Finding Perfect series is an intriguing make you feel good romance. The author has once again created a wonderful romance story that captures the heart of the reader and I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
