Another DNF for me. I don't have patience for the dominating male who is just this side of forceful. I have issues with lack of consent - I don't find it seductive to coerce sexual situations after objections of any kind, so I'm done.

I call foul on there being no real entertainment wrestling until the 70%! We learn that his entrance song is X Going Give It To Ya by DMX but never learn his signature wrestling move. Come on, give the people what they came here for!!!!

Look, middle school me who gasped when Stephanie McMahon decided to stay with Triple H, cheered for the Hardy Boyz, and named a gold fish Lita, kept reading this book and rated it. This honestly read like middle/high school entertainment wrestling fan fiction with its syurp-y sweet heroine and over-the-top damaged background, lacking much of a personality (we do get three or four povs from the hero), and borderline scary possessive big sexy dude. The protection of a grizzly but mostly acts like pooh bear; his personality was definitely off kilter.

This was so over-the-top and dreamy girl fan fiction-y and it's a book one, as in the heroine and hero's story doesn't end. This was fine for a slight nostalgic trip to my old WWE fan days (no mention of this in the story, just with it staring a wrestler it made me think back to those characters) but I'll be stopping here and not continuing with their story. I really liked the book but I'm upset that it was a cliffhanger and I didn't know it before I started reading it. So bummed :( ( )

Where to start?! At the beginning eh! I decided to buy this book as I'd heard and read mixed reviews but as I was intrigued by the cover and the excerpt, and because I like to make my own mind up about a book, I one-clicked and away I went!

I've read a lot of books about fighters, bad boys, bikers, billionaires, alphas but this is the first book i've read where the fighting is wrestling and having 2 boys in the house (one 40 and one 4) I'm quite familiar with Triple H and Shawn Michaels so the content was very familiar to me. Have to say I did enjoy the story, Anna is a sweet, naive girl who clearly has a backbone and will stick up for herself, Xavier is a bad boy who's a lil bit broken. They make a pact to be friends, yeah like that's gonna happen lol! One thing leads to another and its love! Sadly there is a cliffhanger and I'm unsure when book 2 will be out - I hope its fairly soon.

I haven't read any of Michelle A Valentine's books before and really feel like I should give myself a stiff talking to for not reading them! She has an easy reading style I noted a couple of very minor typos but that doesn't detract from the storyline. The pages flowed nicely, in fact I'm a little gutted that I'm done but on the plus side I have the Rock series to read.

My advice to those of you who may have read negative reviews is that you should definitely give it a go, make your own mind up, I'm glad I did because frankly I really enjoyed it :) ( )

4 stars. I liked the beginning and the middle a whole lot. Just last 1/3 of the story just seemed completely chaotic. Cliffhanger at the end... so I'll need to read book 2 for a continuation. There's no date set for when that will happen. ( )
